Future Charges

Soon the INWFC will be an enregistered union (in Germany). As soon as the website goes online, you'll be able to become a proper member of the INWFC and get a membership card. Since we'll have to send it to you, there will emerge shipping costs. In this early stage, I don't want to levy an annual membership fee.
But of course, it's not possible to pay the shipping costs (that will be about €2,50) for every new member myself.
So please state your opinion about this topic here and tell me, if it would suitable for you to pay this sum for receiving your membership card.

Personally, I think it is only fair to pay the shipping charge if a member can. It is alot to expect of one person to continually pay the money to send a membership card to every new member who joins up; in the end it all adds up.

The shipping cost adds up to about $5 AUD, so yeah. Seems fair to me.

The only other option would be to have people donate to the fanclub to help pay for the membership cards?

hmmm yes, but I doubt alot of people would donate money. I think $5 is a fair amount, is isn't much really.

Oh, that can be the major flaw. The other thing that could be done is to have it is a file people download and print themselves? If not, paying $5 seems all good to me.

That could work, if everyone had a membership number, or something, otherwise people could just print them and give them to whoever...

I agree too, it's only fair. I prefer having the actual thing sent to me than just printing it out though... Looks more authentic. And nice logo Hells_Bells.

I agree. I prefer having it sent to me then printed as it does look more authentic and my printer sucks anyway.

Well I think charching for a membership card is fair enought, as long as we won't have to pay to join the fanclub [such as Avril Lavigne fan club where the fans are required to pay, or whatever]. PERSONALLY, my parents do have problems with sending money abroad \ buying from the internet[the reason why for now I can't get the Nightwish Book], so I really hope that they will agree on this one. And about the tickets.. well, it can be much easier to print them at home, but much nicer to get them through mail.

Not sure about there being no membership fee, many fanclubs charge an administration/membership fee, otherwise they cannot afford to fund things such as competitions,merchandise,giveaways, etc. Some clubs manage to get sponsorship also.

I think that no membership fee, at least at the beginning, is a good idea.
We can prepare some gadgets like INWFC t-shirts and get some money in that way.

I'm with Planet Hell on this one...I'd be glad to donate anything anyday. Although of course it would be nice if we could keep the costs at as much of a minimum as possible. We don't want to make it a pain in the ass for people to join. The $5 (slightly more in US dollars) sounds pretty fair, especially for an authentic membership card.

I agree, sounds great and I also wouldn't mind donating either.

It would be good that members pay the shipping in products and the membership fee is a good idea in the long run, the more members we can actually get in all continents the better chances we get that people can contribute. After all this is about their favorite band, right?

I'm so glad about your positive replies!!
Today I applied for being accepted as a charitable FC at the local finance office, so we'll be able to hand out contribution receipts and making some donations will be possible
I'll give you their reply as soon as possible. Hope they'll answer soon...

I don't mind paying a fee or whatever. ^_^ I doubt any of us are just dying to spend money, though, so it'd be nifty if required payments stayed at the minimum. Of course, donations are always good!
